2744. 생명의 물. Water of life.
이 세상의 땅과 식물과 사람도, 약 70%의 물로 형성되어 있습니다. 그래서 지구의 녹색은 물이 만들어 낸 생명의 푸른색입니다. 물은 보잘 것 없이 흘러 가지만 인간의 기술로 만들지 못하고, 창조주 하나님이 주신 귀한 생명 수 입니다. 그래서 물은 만물과 인류의 곁에서, 주야로 생명을 주는 것입니다.

그런데 세월이 흘러 갈수록 비가 적게 오고 강수량이 적으며, 생명의 물이 오염되어 색갈도 변하고, 식수가 부족하다는 것입니다. 세계의 통계에 따르면, 약 10억 인구가 안전한 식수를 마시지 못하고, 또 25억 인구가 아직도 밖에서 대변을 보고, 가축의 배설물과 온갖 쓰레기 각종 폐수가 땅으로 들어가, 지하수를 마시고 수인성 질병으로, 매년 200만 명이 목숨을 잃는다는 것입니다.
