예수 그리스도의 공생애 당시 어느 날, 가나안 수로보니게 족속 한 여인이 예수님께 찾아와, 어린 딸이 귀신들렸으니 고쳐 달라고 강청하였습니다. 그러나 예수님은 이방 여인의 강청을 거절 하였습니다. 그런데 여인은 물러서지 않고 끈질기게, 딸에게 귀신을 쫓아 내 달라고, 더 간절히 호소하였습니다.

이 시대에도 하나님과 그 아들 예수님을 믿는 성도 역시, 크고 작은 질병이나 문제를 해결받기 위해서는, 적극적인 믿음으로 불퇴진의 기도를 해야 합니다. 절망적인 상황에서도 뒤로 물러서지 않고, 약속의 말씀을 증거삼아 부르짖어 기도해야 합니다. 가나안 여인은 죽기 살기로 예수님께 달려 나가. 막무가내로 딸을 고쳐 달라고 강청하여, 딸에게서 귀신이 나가고 치료받고 소원을 이루었습니다.
