 이 시대 세계 인류는 자신의 피조물을 망각하고, 창조주 하나님의 주권을 인정하지 않고, 경외하는 마음을 상실한 시대입니다. 인도에 선교사로 헌신했던 레슬리 뉴비긴은, 계몽주의 이후 사람들은 하나님의 권위보다, 자신의 이성과 권위를 더 높이 생각하며, 죄짓고 교만하여 인생의 비극이 시작되었다는 것입니다.

죄인의 구원이란, 꼭 교회에 나가서만 받는 것이 아닙니다. 누구든지 언제 어디서나 하나님 아들 예수님을 제 구주로, 마음속에 영접해 모셔 들이고 죄를 회개하고, 저는 예수님을 제 구주로 믿습니다. 말로 시인하면 구원을 받습니다.
